Gouaches

During my Jewelry Design studies in the Haute École de Joaillerie, I was taught the art of gouache painting. This traditional technique has been used for centuries to represent jewels in all their splendor, requiring hours of meticulous work to render each reflection of light, each shade of color…

This technique is still being used in the most renouned Fine Jewelry houses. During my internship in the Design Studio of Piaget, I was asked to imagine earrings and pendants to enrich existing collections, and each of these proposals was hand-painted.

My first experience in Bangkok was working for the Fine Jewelry brand Sartoro. There I imagined a pair of bowshaped earrings in diamond, with ideas for matching rings and pendants. I worked on various other designs, from pearl earrings to diamond necklace…

I love doing gouaches for my personal designs as well, taking the time to put out my brushes and paints, to appreciate the almost meditative pace of this technic.
